About Tetricus Labs

Tetricus Labs is a precision psychiatry company. The U.S. spends $225B annually on mental health care – yet 70% of patients don’t recover from their first treatment: driving adverse effects and frustration for patients, and wasteful spend for providers and payers. Our first product, Sigmund.AI, is a machine learning-based patient evaluator that uses novel diagnostic signals to triage and remotely monitor patients in a hospital context. Our platform’s unparalleled breadth and precision positions Tetricus well to become the front door to mental health, helping every patient navigate to the right care for them.

Job description

We’re looking for a full-time backend engineer to build a wide variety of infrastructure components including but not limited to high-performance APIs, multi-country cloud deployments, machine learning model training pipelines, and data transformations. The ideal candidate will have strong depth in backend services and a breadth of experiences across many other technical areas. They will be tasked to think deeply about problems, come up with solutions, discuss them with the team and develop those solutions end-to-end with full ownership.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and own a variety of backend systems (public/private APIs, ML infra, DB infra, alerting, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the rest of the team, both technical and non-technical, to develop the best system for the problem at hand

  • Focus on developing solutions that drive clear impact within the organization and to patients

  • Break down complex problems into simple concepts for non-technical audiences

  • Attend meetings with our healthcare provider partners and work directly with their technical teams to build integrations with systems you’ll build

  • Compose thorough documentation to support your systems

  • Develop simple, clear, and reliable systems

  • Integrate robust logging, alerting, and fallback mechanisms in case of system failures

  • Clearly communicate development timelines, expectations, and roadblocks to the team (FYI the team is mostly East Coast based for meetings)

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, computer engineering, related field or bootcamp with equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of relevant experience (4+ with MS, 2+ with PhD) as a developer producing production-ready backend systems

  • Experience building, deploying, and managing REST APIs, their deployment pipelines, and their management to support high-performance data products: in Flask and/or FastAPI, with Docker, and on a major cloud services platform (Note: We’re on GCP)

  • Fluency in Python and SQL

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A drive to see problems through to their solution with the ability to work around, over, or through roadblocks

  • Experience with Javascript and/or React is a plus

  • Experience in health tech and/or electronic health records is a major plus

What we offer

  • A small, close-knit, driven team that firmly believes in the mission of helping people when they need it the most

  • The opportunity to directly impact the health outcomes for patients across the US and Canada

  • A virtually green-field to develop the right solutions

  • A breadth of products and systems to learn and grow your craft

  • Occasional travel for onsite discussions and company retreats

  • Flexible working hours

  • Equity
